Information You Submit
Terms entered in a search form, such as a name, telephone number, or street address, go to the outside search provider that supplies the results. Imperial People Search does not save a separate copy of those searches on its servers. When someone sends a message, the information included in it is received and used only to answer that inquiry.
Information Collected Automatically
Normal hosting logs can record an IP address, browser type, requested pages, and access times. Aggregate log data helps maintain reliable service and shows which resources visitors use. Cookies or comparable tools may also support basic audience analytics and advertising measurement when those functions apply.
How Information Is Used
The limited information described above supports site operation, troubleshooting, traffic measurement, and improvements to the Imperial records resources. Visitor lists are not sold, and individual user profiles are not built.
Privacy on Linked Services
Links may lead to City of Imperial services, Imperial County offices, California agencies, court and library resources, or outside search tools. Information entered after following a link is governed by the destination's policy rather than this one. The same distinction applies to sponsored search results, which an independent provider operates.
Parties That Process Information
Hosting and technical vendors may process server-log information while supporting the service. Analytics or advertising providers may receive the automatic data noted above. Information may also be disclosed in response to valid legal process, but visitor data is not otherwise shared.
Safeguards and Retention
An encrypted connection protects traffic to the site. Server logs are retained only for as long as the operational purposes described above require. Because there are no visitor accounts, Imperial People Search holds no user password or account profile.
Visitors Under Age 18
This service is meant for adults and is not directed to children. Personal information from anyone under 18 is not knowingly collected. If a minor appears to have submitted such information, use the contact channel so it can be removed.
Your California Privacy Rights
California Civil Code § 1798.105 gives consumers a right to request deletion of personal information collected by a covered business, subject to statutory exceptions. Other rights to access or correct data may also apply based on the law and the requester's circumstances. Since Imperial People Search holds little visitor information, a request generally involves checking contact messages and available server logs. Submit a request through the Contact page.
Official records are outside this site's control. Records held by the City of Imperial, Imperial County Clerk-Recorder, Imperial County Assessor, Imperial County Registrar of Voters, Imperial Superior Court, or a California state agency remain governed by the custodian's retention, access, and confidentiality rules. A request to correct, restrict, or remove an official record must go to the office that keeps it.
Changes to This Policy
A revised policy will be posted here when these practices change. Using the service after the revision is published indicates acceptance of the updated terms.
